Big Day!

Yesterday was a very big day!  Michael shot his first music video!
Here Megan (Michael's sister) and I are helping Michael prepare for his first solo section of the video.  The video was for the remix of Michael's song This Machine.  He's been composing and writing his own songs for years now (check out his website for other songs).  He already has one album out and will be releasing an EP of remixes soon, hence the video to help promote it.

The shoot was in the welding studio the School of the Museum of Fine Art.  It was a really cool, edgy, industrial vibe.  All we had to do as extras was dance like we're in a club.  The level of the production was really great, Michael found a film student to do the shoot, so in a few weeks I'll have my video debut to share with you all!

Oh and earlier that day, I bought a Vespa!
After our Pacific Northwest vacation and our stop in Seattle, I decided I was meant to be a scooter girl.  We met up with Eben's high school friend Eli who owns 2 Honda Ruckuses.  He taught us how to ride them and then took us all over the city.  It became very clear to me that driving can be fun!  I had such a blast and decided that I really needed to sell my car and get a scooter.  The plan was to first sell my car and THEN get the scooter, but things didn't exactly work out that way....   May I introduce my Vespa Tweet Pea!  She is lovely and fun and gets close to 80 miles to the gallon!  I got a fabulous deal (she's not brand-spanking new) with only 700 miles which means the engine is broken in.  I'll be getting my second helmet later this week so soon both Eben and I can go scooting together.  Scooting pictures to come.....

Happy Easter and Spring

Eben and I spent Easter with his family and their friends the Tobiasson's in Princeton, MA.  The two families have spent Easter and Christmas together for years.  Sunday was really fun getting to participate in the traditions they've built.  They still have an Easter egg hunt every year even though the youngest is 23.  The parents fill plastic eggs with candy and hide them all over the yard.  This year there were 5 of us 'kids'; Eben, his sister Emily, Anders, Eric, and me.  Prior to the hunt, we're all supposed to pose wearing various Easter head decorations including our baskets.
As you can see here, I was having a bit of trouble with my basket and thus was unfairly delayed when Eben yelled "GO" directly after the photo was taken.
In the end, I found 19 eggs.  Eben found the most (28.5 eggs).  There were 101 all together.
Despite my basket handicap I still made out very well!
In addition to our hunt, we each received individual Easter baskets and a wind-up caterpillar.
As could be expected, there were wind-up races which, with my green caterpillar, I won 2 of the 3 races held!  Victory was sweet after my earlier upset in the egg hunt.

All of these games followed a really great dinner prepared by Leslie, Ginny, and Candy.  There was soy and ginger glazed halibut, candied yams, homemade apple sauce, garlicky carrots, corn, asparagus, pork of some sort, rolls and rosemary & cheese breadsticks which I had made.  For dessert we had a King Cake sent from New Orleans, ice cream puffs, and birthday cake (it's Leslie's birthday today, and we were celebrating early).  We were all very happy and full when we parted ways.  It was a lovely Easter Sunday (extra lovely because I didn't have to work!).

The Plunge

I've done it.  I've taken the plunge after a push from my sister and aunt and am now officially  a blogger.

What now?
